Friedreich's Ataxia is a
neurodegenerative disease affecting about one in 50,000 people.
People who are afflicted with Friedreich's Ataxia have degeneration
of the long nerves of the spinal cord, the cerebellum and the nerves
carrying sensation to the hands and feet. The disease is steadily
progressive and death may occur in early adulthood.
While
there is no known treatment or cure for Friedreich's Ataxia,
worldwide research is ongoing, and YOU can make a difference!
You may donate any amount you wish to the foundation. If you have
ever know someone with this disease you know first hand how
important research to finding a cure is.
Friedreich's Ataxia does
not discriminate in its affliction. It can touch the lives of any
family, friend or neighbor. We all hate to see this disease going on
around our lives it would be easier to say "I will do it
later" or "When I am not so busy, I will donate". Yet,
those with Friedreich's Ataxia do not have the time to wait
for our busy lives to calm down. It only takes a moment and what you
gain in your heart will last a lifetime.
